My Career
As I enter a slow season, starting my year-long Mat leave very soon, God reminded me to be grateful on how far I’ve come in terms of my career , the work that's been given to me and the work environment. I wanted to share this testimony and look back on how good and faithful God has been to me in spite of my shortcomings.
One of my prayer requests when I was actively participating in the Tuesday prayer group was : God to open a door for me to kick-start my Career to be supportive towards my family and also use the talents God has given me.
I didn’t know how to go about it since l had a huge gap after my completion of Computer Science Engineering back home, worked briefly, got married, moved to different countries, started life from scratch, and then raising Rebecca, 3.5 years flew by. But l always had this burden to be independent and support my husband. God promised me before I moved to Canada that I would work and flourish in a foreign country.
God has set a time and season for everything; Daniel 2:21.
He makes all things beautiful in His time; Ecc 3:11.
In the year 2021, God enabled me to apply to the University to study again. Everything was done at the last moment. December 12th was the last day to submit my application, as I was stuck in India until October during the pandemic season, but Jesus helped me to get through the admission process, clearing the academic IELTS with excellent scores for the college I precisely wanted to get into, and I started my classes in January 2022.
While I was studying, I started doing a part-time Job at BMO bank, which I got miraculously, and it was purely God's favour that I walked-in to a branch with my resume, met the Manager randomly and got the job. I took it as a sign that it’s God's will and timing.
Do not despise these humble beginnings. Zechariah 4:10
I completed my “ financial planning “ post-graduate degree with “ Honors” by His grace alone and my job turned into full-time. God promoted me to the next level in no time and also helped me complete my competitive exams as well for further growth in finance sector.
“Spirit of Excellency” Daniel 1:20
Since my work location was quite far, commuting used to be really difficult for me, especially during the winter season with harsh snowstorms. I cried one day while I was waiting for my subway train during a very bad snowstorm “ lord, I can’t do this anymore. “
Unfortunately May 2023, I lost this job, but within 2 weeks, I got a job in the top bank in Canada, “Royal Bank Of Canada“ as an “Analyst“, and it was a completely remote job/work from home set up and joined the bank on my birthday June 2023 . I was so relieved that I didn’t have to commute to work anymore was able to focus on family, ministry at church, and work at the same time.
All things work together for good, Romans 8:28
This job wasn’t easy. I felt very humbled handling clients, but I knew God was preparing me for something big. I found favour wherever I stood like Joseph. Everyone knew me from Directors to VPs, and it’s not easy to get this recognition amidst a sea of people.
I moved to my next role within 4 months ie November 2023 and outshined all my peers.
During the vision board activity at church this year, I drew specifically a few things as per the urge I felt by the Holy Spirit. I drew about getting into a leadership role when it comes to my career. My eyes was fixed on getting into a leadership role asap. I worked very hard towards this vision.
Month of May 2025 first week I was very disappointed with the fact that I was not being promoted which was promised to me , despite of my hard work.
Literally performing as per scripture, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters,”
Colossians 3:23
I felt very broken and that’s when GOD promised me “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”
Psalms 46:5
“For you are their glory and strength, and by your favor you exalt our horn.”
Psalms 89:17
I held to these scriptures, Jesus gave me a different perspective, and changed my heart with joy. God promised I will receive recognition for my work.
May 21st 2025, I got my first award, “ Excellence award “ for my work July I got another award, “ Spotlight award “ for exhibiting leadership qualities and top performance.
I also got promoted to a leadership role and moved to the management team. Which usually requires 6 to 7 years of experience, I got it within 2 years of experience.
“Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.”
Psalms 20:6
I did not anticipate completing this year with another award, nor did I know the magnitude of it that I didn’t even go to receive it during the fiscal year-end celebration as I was in my 7th month pregnancy. I won the “ Conference Award, “ which is the top-most award at RBC, and only 3 of us among a sea of people won this. They also gave me a cruise package for two people for a week covering 7 cities in the USA.
God has been so faithful, He’s been so good to me. He fulfilled His promise and answered the prayers.
All Glory, Honour and Praise belongs to Him.
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. “
1 Samuel 2:8
